This policy explains what information mathSolver.help ("we", "the site") and the Math Solver Chrome extension ("the extension") collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed the service to work without an account — you can solve problems without signing up.

Information We Collect

Anonymous sessions. When you use the solver without signing in, we create an anonymous session identifier so your conversation and free-tier limits work normally. It is not linked to your name, email, or any real identity.
Content you submit. The math problems you type or paste, including images you upload or paste. This content is processed to generate solutions and, if you continue the same conversation, kept so follow-up questions have context.
Basic technical data. Your IP address (used only for rate limiting and abuse prevention) and standard server logs (request time, status).

How We Use Information

To generate step-by-step solutions to the problems you ask.
To recognize text in problem screenshots so they can be solved.
To keep conversation history within a session you control.
To enforce free-tier limits and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your information, use it for third-party advertising, or build profiles for behavioral tracking.

AI Processing

Solving is powered by third-party AI model providers. The text (and the extracted content of any image) you submit is sent to these providers solely to generate the answer. Image screenshots are processed by a vision model to extract the problem text.

The Chrome Extension

The extension sends a problem to our servers only when you explicitly trigger it — by selecting text and choosing "Solve with Math Solver", or by typing/pasting a problem into the side panel yourself.
The extension does not read or monitor your browsing history, and it accesses only the page selection you choose to solve.
A session token for the anonymous session and the current conversation are stored locally in chrome.storage on your device. Clearing the extension data or the browser storage removes them.

Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Conversation content is stored so the service can support follow-up questions and history within a session. Starting a new chat disconnects you from the previous conversation. To request deletion of specific data, contact us with the details below.

Third-Party Services

We rely on reputable infrastructure providers to run the service: hosting, authentication and database services, and AI model providers. Each processes data only as needed to deliver the service on our behalf.

Children's Privacy

The service is a general-purpose math tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
